DOHA — Tuesday's Last 32 set the field, and all eight Last 16 ties at the $450,000 Qatar World Cup 10-Ball break off simultaneously at 11:00 local time (08:00 UTC, 16:00 Manila) at the Ezdan Palace Hotel, all race to 11.

Order of play — Wednesday 28 October (all matches 08:00 UTC / 16:00 Manila)

  • Jonas Magpantay vs Wojciech Szewczyk — Table 17
  • Carlo Biado vs Konrad Juszczyszyn — Table 11
  • Joshua Filler vs Tobias Bongers — Table 16
  • Fedor Gorst vs Hsieh Chia Chen — Table 9
  • Rocky Tullao vs John Morra — Table 15
  • Miguel Salvilla vs Jerico Bonus — Table 14
  • Jundel Mazon vs AJ Manas — Table 10
  • Dương Quốc Hoàng vs Daniel Macioł — Table 13

One to watch: Magpantay vs Szewczyk. The defending champion faces the WPA world No. 1 in a rematch of last year's Last 16 tie, which Magpantay won 11-5 on his way to the title.

Why it matters: Seven of the 16 survivors are Filipino, and with two all-Filipino ties — Salvilla vs Bonus and Mazon vs Manas — the Philippines is guaranteed two quarter-finalists before a ball is struck. Vietnam's Dương Quốc Hoàng gets 2024 champion Daniel Macioł, while three of the headline favourites — Szewczyk, Filler and Gorst — must all navigate the same morning session ahead of Thursday's race-to-13 final.
