Antonelli can clinch F1 title at United States GP
The Mercedes driver takes a 102-point lead into Austin with six races remaining.
Kimi Antonelli can win the Formula 1 drivers’ championship at the United States Grand Prix, arriving in Austin with a 102-point lead over Mercedes teammate George Russell.
Antonelli has 340 points after 17 rounds. Russell is second on 238, with Lewis Hamilton third on 229, according to Grande Prêmio. A maximum of 150 points remains across the final six races.
If Antonelli secures the championship, he would become the youngest world champion in Formula 1 history, surpassing Sebastian Vettel’s record from 2010.
Mercedes also leads Ferrari by 134 points in the constructors’ standings, but cannot clinch that title until Mexico at the earliest. The Austin round runs from October 23-25.
