The Mercedes driver can become Formula 1's youngest champion, but the permutations remain difficult.

Kimi Antonelli can win his first Formula 1 world championship at the United States Grand Prix, but the Mercedes driver said he would need a perfect weekend in Austin.

Antonelli leads team-mate George Russell by 102 points and Lewis Hamilton by 111 after 17 races. The 20-year-old would become the youngest champion in F1 history if he leaves Texas with a 125-point advantage.

Formula 1 reported that Antonelli must win and needs Russell to finish ninth or lower, with Hamilton also finishing down the order. BBC Sport's calculation put the Hamilton cutoff at fifth or lower.
