Curry ‘fine’ after ankle scare before Warriors opener
Golden State avoided a major injury worry days before the regular season begins.
Golden State guard Stephen Curry was diagnosed with a right ankle sprain after leaving an open practice early on Sunday, but head coach Steve Kerr said the injury was not believed to be major.
Hoops Rumors, citing NBC Bay Area, reported that the Warriors had not provided a recovery timeline entering Wednesday’s regular-season opener.
Teammate Gui Santos said players were initially scared by the sight of Curry leaving the court, but added: “It’s Steph. He’s tough.”
Golden State is also monitoring Charles Bassey, who is day-to-day with knee tendinitis, while Kristaps Porzingis is unavailable because of illness.
