Tyler Styer and Margaret Fefilova-Styer defeated Shane Van Boening and Chris Melling 6-2 in Friday's National Pairs final at Harrah's Cherokee.
CHEROKEE, N.C. — Tyler Styer and Margaret Fefilova-Styer beat Shane Van Boening and Chris Melling 6-2 in Friday's National Pairs final at the Ultimate Pool USA Grand Finals — husband and wife taking the title at Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort.
It is a second trophy of the week for Fefilova-Styer, the National Women's Shootout champion, and a second final defeat in two nights for Van Boening after Thursday's 10-Ball Showdown.
Two more finals overran and were pushed to Saturday: the Mixed Pairs (Ashley Benoit & Chris Melling vs Avah Weems & Oscar Dominguez) and the 10-Ball Teams (In The Stroke Of Time vs Armstrong All-Stars).
Why it matters: Saturday's 8-Ball Teams final at 8 p.m. ET is worth $112,000 to the winners — billed as the biggest match in league pool history — and now shares the last day with two finals carried over from Friday.
